Warith-Deen Shahid
Warith-Deen Shahid, a native of SE Atlanta, Georgia, is a distinguished professional renowned for his work as a nonprofit founder, music manager, savvy investor, and business owner. He established the Warith-Deen Shahid Foundation, formerly known as the Candler Dawah Foundation, in September 2017. This foundation is dedicated to community support through various programs such as child assistance, mentorship, and workshops, as well as events like stop the violence initiatives and back-to-school drives. Driven by a passion for positive youth development, Warith founded the organization to combat the widespread trauma, disease, poverty, and lack of guidance he observed while growing up on McPherson Ave., Glenwood Ave., and Candler Rd. in SE Atlanta. In addition to his foundation, Warith co-founded Eid Fest Atlanta, an annual Islamic holiday festival that attracts over 5,000 attendees each year. This festival has been recognized with two proclamations: April 29, 2023, was declared as EID PARADE AND FESTIVAL APPRECIATION DAY by Natalie Hall, and as EID FEST APPRECIATION DAY by Khadijah Abdur-Rahman, both from Fulton County, Georgia. The festival was created to unify the community, bridge the gap between elders and youth, and foster love, trust, and unity. Furthermore, Warith co-founded The Barakat Group, another initiative aimed at community cohesion and support. Recognizing the challenges single parents face, he also established the Warith-Deen Shahid Tuition Assistance Program at Mohammed Schools of Atlanta and Save Institute to help single parents provide quality education for their children. In 2022, Warith launched the 100K Campaign, a significant fundraising initiative to support Mohammed Schools of Atlanta. Warith’s valiant entry into music management began in 2017 at Alamo Records and 300 Entertainment, where he managed artists such as Young Thug’s YSL Records, Jerrika Karlae, Yung Mal, and Lil Quill. His true passion, however, lies in managing God-conscious artists, which led him to start managing Shadi Akhi in 2022 and Sista Keilana in 2023. Warith is committed to propelling the arts that heal, teach, motivate, inspire, and uplift the community. To collaborate or donate, visit WarithDeen.com or email Warith@WarithDeen.com.
